During the coronavirus pandemic, every little bit helps. Charity organizations like food banks are working overtime to provide meals to the millions who are suddenly jobless and dealing with the fallout of the economic collapse. Not only has America been shut down, the virus is killing more people in America than anywhere in the world, which has put a lot of pressure on leaders in Washington.

In an effort to do a little something to help, the Trump campaign has been anonymously donating meals to hospitals that have been hit hard during the pandemic. The meals have gone to blue states like New York, Washington as well as purple states like New Jersey and Michigan. Although the campaign had tried to do the donation anonymously, Fox News political reporter Brooke Singman caught a whiff of the story and reported it to her national audience.

The president’s reelection campaign told Singman that campaign management wanted to do something good without making it a political move.

“They’re doing it as a donor who cares,” a source was quoted as saying. “So nothing politically is tied to it. … We’re just trying to, you know, show a thank you. They’re trying to send things that are like, local restaurants that may need support [and] cool restaurant icons of the area that may need the business.”

Singman broke the news to the national audience via her Twitter profile. Although the president’s campaign was “quietly” donating food to those in need, Singman wanted more people to know about this donation that was being made to the millions of hungry people who are left with nothing during the economic collapse following the invasion of the virus across American borders.

She wrote, “(Trump’s) campaign has been quietly calling local restaurants and ordering large amounts of food to be delivered to hospitals in an effort to feed doctors, nurses and first responders and support local restaurants.”

In Hackensack, New Jersey, the down-home owner of the Chit Chat Diner shared an update about how an anonymous donor had given something when it was crucial. Now a whistleblower has revealed that the anonymous donor were the people behind the Trump campaign.

“An anonymous donation providing lunch to some hardworking staff at Hackensack Hospital this afternoon. We are so grateful,” the restaurant posted on Instagram earlier this week.

Antonio’s Trattoria received an anonymous order to deliver 100 meals to Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx, which is represented by progressive representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“It was 20 penne vodkas, 20 pastas with tomato sauce, 30 chicken parmesans, and 30 house salads with grilled chicken,” the Italian restaurant’s manager told Fox News. “He only gave his first name and said he wanted to remain anonymous.”

Giovanni’s Italian Deli in Secaucus, New Jersey, also received an order that was to be delivered to Hudson Regional Hospital.

“They only told us their first name,” an employee of Giovanni’s told Fox News on Thursday. “They called us, and they had us donate meals for the nurses and doctors — an assortment of things, 40 platters of pasta, salads, sandwiches.”
